The Wedge is lightweight ( 5 lbs with the uv-c glasses included) yet quite strong made mostly of hardwood. This provides easy modification, in the field, to other new lamp types, sockets etc. in the future, if desired (we use real screws not rivets). Not a rip off single part source on anything. Full wiring diagram included. All parts, including the lights and ballast were selected source engineered to be of tested high quality, long lasting, easily, cheaply, available anywhere from many vendors. Therefore, low cost replacement parts, if rarely needed, will be available for many years, from many vendors, not just us.
